Hello! Station Ep61

Yes it’s Hello! Station ep61. A bit late this week but I got sidetracked with my other posts and a general feeling of meh.

Anyway first up apparently some of S/mileage are now 18 and have emotion…

They have nice skirts at least. Actually a lot of people have been complaining about the Mystery Night pv because of the sexy clothes. I don’t see a problem with it myself. I mean sure Vampire-chan is not 16 yet but it’s hardly porn. Having said that this pv is back to the S/mileage of old in terms of look. Yes it’s short skirts and brightness and even though there’s no Yuuka or Saki it’s still almost like a return to form.  The song itself upon a few listens is probably the one I like the most since the days of 4-nin S/mileage. As for the PV I think even the people who dislike the Mystery Night pv will see nothing to complain about with this one. It’s fun sexy rather than phwoooar sexy.

Anyway overall I actually like this. It’s the first positive thing I’ve had to say about S/mileage in forever. Maybe it’s the onset of spring. Maybe I’m just becoming soft in my twilight years. Either way it’s bright, fun and reasonably easy to listen to. Oh and God help me I’m starting to like Meimi more. Please send holy water. Thank you.

Rrrrrrr I’m a cat!

No you’re not you’re a sweet sweet filly and I’d like to take you for a ride.

Miyabi’s hair colour really suits her. I think either that or her make-up makes her look very pale though. Even so she does look rather lovely and it’s nice to see a hairstyle that doesn’t make her look like a runner in this Saturday’s Grand National.

Next up is Momusu with Password is 0. I tried logging into Tsunkuboy’s Twitter account and it turns out he’s lying. It’s not 0. You can’t trust anyone these days. I reckon it’s probably something butch like “MANLYMAN” or “bigbossmanMALE” or something. Anyway the pv is ooookay I guess. It leaves me a bit hmm though. I don’t really like the outfits and there’s just your usual close-up then dance stuff going on except with the added irritation of some letters getting in the way a lot. The song itself is alright but the chorus actually annoys me a bit. But still the girls all look good…

This along with the awful lighting in a recent Juice=Juice pv makes me think H!P have done some secret deal with a chain of opticians.

After the newer songs comes a live clip of Berryz performing a hit of yesteryear. I don’t really get it though as it ain’t rock and it certainly ain’t erotic. Still the clip does give a good chance to laugh at the shit hair on display…

I slag off Berryz a lot. I would like them to do a single I enjoy though. It would give me a chance to spend some time with Chinami. As it is the last single I liked was Cha Cha Sing (which was awesome as it happens). Sometimes they do produce the goods but I think it’s about once every 18 months to two years. Next single might be good then.

Following Boryzzzzz it’s the hair corner and following Nacky’s comedy effort last week it’s an alltogether more normal look from…someone or other from Juice-Juice. The youngest one. The one with the big mouth.

There’s a funny moment where the hairtie breaks but otherwise it’s the kind of thing you’ll only enjoy if you are interested in the member or in female hair styling.

I’ve been trying to figure out what Miyabi’s t-shirt says…

I have to say watching the food Maimi and Airi are eating makes me hungry too…

Perhaps less so the food Maimai and Nacky have. I don’t like noodles anyway  and Mai’s expression…

I’m not sure if the members happily share half-eaten food though. Take bite…

It was strange there was no sign of Chisato. But since there was food being eaten maybe she was elsewhere going on about her weight again.

The final section before the weekly G/rimace (aww and I was being so nice to them this week too) is a live clip of Juice=Juice. Hadaka no Hadaka no Hadaka no KISS has grown on me and I love the outfits. The actual quality of the picture is odd though Almost like it’s a bit squashed…

Scary. Talking of scary Meimi is eating…

Meimi so often has the look of a serial killer about her. A sometimes cute serial killer but surely that just makes it worse?

The majority of the S/mileage section is brief clips of mall performances and behind the scenes stuff. Of interest to S/mileage fans I’m sure.

So this week’s show was kind of interesting but by no means the best ever. Still as usual there’s plenty to like and you can always skip the bits that don’t interest you. Personally I like watching the whole show anyway. Even the boring bits have something to recommend them even if it’s just Chinami in the background or something. Plus it’s good to have a weekly slice of H!P. It’s a shame they don’t have tv shows still. I’d love to see Hello! Morning come back or even just Hello! Pro Time. In the absence of those shows though this will do nicely.
